Bittersweet Listing
The time has come to sell my Grandma’s home, that she and my Grandpa purchased when my father was just a teen. This is the only home I’ve known my grandparents to live in, so this listing is bittersweet for me.
I’ve landed in this unexpected position of taking care of my grandma for the remaining years of her life. After reviewing several options to determine the best way forward, we’ve finally settled on selling the home with all of our childhood memories for three generations now. My grandma needs accommodations that her home simply can’t provide, so this is best for her but we are all feeling the bittersweet emotions as we all help go through things and pack. And yet, we are all experiencing this for the first time, together, and it is providing such an amazing space for us to bond and move through this major change for our family.
I am excited for my grandma to begin this new chapter so she can enjoy her family everyday and get the care she needs. Having a new space that’s more accessible for her needs will create opportunities for a whole new set of memories to be made at her new home.
